Valley of Fire day

Big red rocks, then ice cream, and a grown-up night only if the kids are settled.

Presidents' Day, so the valley will be busy. The van does a half day at Valley of Fire: leave around 8:30 and aim to be back by 2, then naps and the pool. Evening is Downtown Summerlin for PopStroke mini golf and Salt & Straw. After the kids go down with Pop and Mimi, the adults can wander the Strip — childcare for that part is still to confirm. Rhyolite stayed off the list. The Lost City Museum in Overton is the nearby history stop if we want one.

Monday is Presidents' Day, so expect company on the road and at the overlooks. We'll keep it to a half day.

Rhyolite ghost town came off the plan. It is about three hours from Valley of Fire. If we want a little history close by, the Lost City Museum in Overton is about 15 minutes away.
